C/2008 Q3 Garrad Via Gras G6

Imaged via GRAS-6 UT1151 21/6/2009
 LRGB-120sec each

This comet image is processed using Imagej. I think the next sequence i will try will be to image the colors in this order for comets. BRGL , as the coma is best seen in green and luminance images and the comet will generally move a considerable distance across the FOV. When aligning the images, these bright areas will be at the most current position and have a minimal need to realign images.

Using GRAS -15 this image is a compsoite of 20 sec RGB images. I have tweaked the blue a little bit., but still lots of Red white and Blues stars. Best seen in the gallery hires image.

Remote imaging via GRAS

The internet lets you do some amazing things. Today I used the Global-Rent-A-Scope system to take a series of images of Eta Carina. using several different Filters. I added then together with ImageJ software. Each image was 180 secs. The gallery has a larger view.

Here an atempt at colorization using ImageJ RGB composer, not perfection, lots of fun. reworked with Imagej. much more subtle coloring.

I now have my Global-rent-a-scope account working and this the result of a few test images the other day. Comet Lulin is a good bright target to northern and southern observers

Cool

Here is another sequence from GRAS remote telescope today. three images of 150 secs each about 5mins apart. A longer series will show the dynmics in the upper ION tail.

CoolLaughing

the next day using 180sec duration images, a fan shape is apparent.

And the moving version

More porridge soon, it is a serial after all.....
