Another recent effort with GRAS-G12, this is M42 in ORION. Every body has a go at this at least once. I think I did ok with RGB exposures of just 3 mins each.

Here is some design concepts for a semi permanent observatory build that could be made off site and then dropped over your prebuilt peir. The first is a slide of roof with control room, add a dome in place of the slide roof.

This is a remote multiscope concept. with control room.

The main concept is that these modules are pre built, wired and ready to drop onsite. the technology is all here to make these work, not cheap though. Would be good for private and schools that offer hands on astronomy.
